Somerset Prosthodontic Dental collaborates with two local, 100-percent digital laboratories that are integral to our practice, crafting aesthetically beautiful, metal-free tooth replacements with precision that comes only from CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and manufacture) dental technology.
The proximity of the two labs to our practice – Puzio Dental Lab in nearby Manville, N.J., and Prodigy Dental Studio in Trenton, N.J. – gives Dr. Zamikhovsky direct supervision of the fabrication process. In addition, our patients visit the labs as needed during the process, as well as for color matches and shade adjustments, which are best done face-to-face with the technician.
The digital CAD/CAM process involves scanning a model of the patient’s prepared tooth. The digital scan produces the most consistent and accurate fit – far more precise than the old molding process that makes patients gag. Because the non-metallic, CAD/CAM-designed core is close in color to a natural tooth, the translucent ceramic surface has the gleam and color of natural enamel and produces an aesthetically beautiful smile.
