People lose teeth from decay, injury, grinding, and congenital issues. To replace those missing teeth, fixed bridges have been used successfully for many years – typically made of artificial teeth mounted on a strip of metal that bridges the gap and is attached to existing teeth on either side.
At Somerset Prosthodontic Dental, all of our digitally designed dental bridges are metal-free. We make our dental bridges entirely of durable, biocompatible, natural-looking ceramic material.
Teeth on both sides of the missing tooth (or teeth) are prepared for ceramic crowns. Then a digitally crafted ceramic tooth is joined to the crowns, and the entire bridge is cemented onto the prepared teeth. The patient cannot remove the bridge; special aids are used to keep it clean. In certain circumstances, a fixed dental bridge can be a viable alternative to an implant. After a comprehensive examination, we can advise you which treatment is best for you.
